In other words, Limbaugh (and many other conservative radio talkshow hosts) didn't have as much influence with the voters as they thought they did.

What the talkshow hosts were selling wasn't what the voters were seeing in Washington with the Republicans in charge. And the vote for them anyway because you don't have any where else to go didn't work.

That's the point - it rarely does - these people didn't run on things themselves & the only running, in fact, that was done, was as far from principle & responsibility, thus leaving the differentiation between the two parties non-distinct (ask Linc), particularly when combined with outright propaganda war via msm.

I listen to a lot of late night talk radio, not the Art Bell/Noory conspiracy stuff but the trucker type shows that focus on politics and current events. It has been my observation that Joe six pack hauling goods down the road saw the Republicans as getting a little too big for their britches, the Trans Texas corridor being pushed through for selfish corporate interests, and sky high diesel fuel prices. A high number of callers to these programs said they voted independent or against established republicans. That is obviously just anecdotal evidence, but has been my observation of what the average blue collar voter was seeing.

Yeah, right....Our Country was at stake TUESDAY, and too many stayed home!!!

The purists got in a snit and gave up ANY say they (and we) had in order to "teach the bastards a lesson".

Now, what have they got -- just a WHOLE LOT MORE to whine and bitch about -- along with weak security to come, NO chance for anymore Aliotos(sp) or Roberts on SCOTUS, higher taxes and more entitlements, a NO chance for tough border and immigration laws, etc. etc. -- not to mention, a BIG slap in the face of the troops.

It's clear now that too many "conservatives" stayed home. Instead of working to replace the RINOs in primaries -- which requires WORK, not just bitching -- they gave away the store and kicked out a good many REAL conservatives cause they didn't go to the polls.

Excuse me but I don't put much faith in talking heads or radio show hosts.. They are there to make money first, entertain and sway opinion last.

Him having a come home to Jesus moment now has little import , imo.

Rush was reluctant to even endorse anyone in the California Recall and, in the end didn't when a fine conservative could have used that lift and show of support, while many others, most out of staters, openly and eagerly jumped on the Rino bandwagon including Hannity and quite a few others.

We all know what has resulted since that debacle both from a spending, debtload and social standpoint.

Maybe if he put his money where his mouth was and mike are, it would mean more to me. jmo.

A lot of conservatives do not like NAFTA, CAFTA, globalism, and huge spending. All that turns me off big time but I vote R anyway. Anything - even a RINO - is better than a Democrat. But it's getting more and more tiring to have to vote for the lesser evil.

One of my senators is Gordon Smith, so I know what I'm talking about. Actually, the last time he ran I just couldn't stomach voting for him so I protest voted for Lon Mabon, since I knew Smith was going to win without my precious vote.

Yes - I disagree.

I am able to listen to Rush most of the time at work, but there are sometimes when I'm not able to hear the whole program so I have 24/7 which allows me to listen from the web or download it to my MP3. This means that I often hear portions of the program more than once.

I believe Rush got a lot of flack over his negative comments of the Bush admin. Even I didn't always approve of what he was saying - except on the "guest worker" issue - I did agree with Rush that it was nothing more than "amnesty".

Because of that, I tend to agree with Rush - he has leveled off his attacks against the admin when possibly they might have done the most good.

I'm glad Rush has decided to go back to his original show plan - to say what he thinks even when it goes against the grain of everybody.

I like him. He handles adversity admirably. I think he needs a vacation. It is only my opinion, but I stand by it.
