This is over the top. It's one thing to say that the Americans who voted for Democrats are mistaken (they are). But cursing them as pussies shows a lack of respect for one's fellow countrymen. Anti-Americanism is never justified, regardless of where on the political spectrum the America-trasher stands.

The Democrats won because:

1.) They ran candidates who masqueraded as moderates. The Democratic Party was careful to avoid revealing too much about their true beliefs. There was very little Howard Dean/Cindy Shaheen rhetoric coming from Democrats this year. Those who did spew it were defeated. While the elections were a significant defeat for Republicans, it wasn't an endorsement of liberalism.

2.) The Washington, D.C. Republican establishment was inept and overcomplascent. From increasing domestic spending to supporting open borders to supporting candidates who engaged in scandalous behavior, they haven't governed conservatively. They merely campaigned solely on the basis of not being the Democrats. They never gave the Americans a reason to vote for them, just against the opposition. This year, it wasn't enough.

3.) A very large number of Americans support the war and laud Bush's committmentment to national security, but oppose the way the war was conducted. Not enough troops used in the early phases. When Saddam's government first fell, there was not enough effort to consolidate the victory. Why, for example, weren't the borders sealed? That might have stopped a lot of the violence, as most of the so-called insurgents are actually foreign terrorists, not native Iraqis. And there are other examples, as well. The war is a just cause, but it could have been carried out better.

Rusty Humphries should tell the complaining soldier to put that in his pipe and smoke it. Whoever wrote that rant is not very well-informed.

Sorry. I served in MACV in '71. I watched the duly elected Democrat Congress [post Watergate], refuse to supply the ARVN with logistical support promised to them by our government when the NVA attacked in '75. South Viet Nam fell as a result. Thousands of the ARVN and South Vietnamese civilians were executed, died, spent years in "reeducation" camps, or deprived of any but the most meager level of existence. They were our Allies! And NOBODY in the good old US of A gave a rat's a*s.

P*ssies? The antiwar movement [except for the hard core types] dried up and blew away once they did away with the draft, and all the Ivy League pukes were safe. So yeah, they were, except in one sense. They have no useful purpose.

You old Dincons were all just far too arrogant to actually LEARN the facts about Iraq. You all hated Bush for rubbing your faces in the reality that all your cherished "realists" policy dogmas you clung to for decades were nonsense.

You just could not stand to be prove lesser men. Intellectually less then that hick from Texas you all hated just cause he was a Bush.

So the old Bush haters in DC all gleefully joined in screaming every absurd lie about Iraq the DC Media Machine spewed at them. Same way they did everything they could to rammed a knife in Katerine Harris back since she was NOT part of the Old Boys club. They all have screamed the lie about Iraq so ofter they started to think it true.

Tuesday was the old Buchannite Conservative Neo Isolationist victory. They cannot now come crawling back and try to rationalize and make excuses for their mistakes and their treachery.

The Support the Troops people taught and explained and begged but the "Realists" were far too arrogantly certain of their own Ideological purity to try and learn. So now that they helped the Democrats stick a knife in our troops back, they expect us to forgive and forget?

I suggest you leave now. The Support the Troops people here do not care to hear rationalizations and excuses from those who worked so hard to help the Democrats stick a knife in our troops back.

You know the real irony of all this is? The Dems do not have to do anything but wait. Keep the Junk Media occupied with show trials of Bush people in Congressional hearings plus a couple of bruising political fights over big glittery handout social spending emotionally appealing items like "Federal Funding for Stem cells" or "Global Warming" and let the Bush plan finish it's course in Iraq.

Oh they probably will make some cosmetic changes along the way. Their new calls to "hold an International Conference on Iraq" is a perfect example of a do nothing worth while at all time wasting maneuver. Then late 2007-2008 scream victory was caused by them as soon as any troops start coming home.

Bush and Rummy won the War for them. Now Old Boy Washington will have two years to revenge itself on him for his being right in 2003 and most of them being dead wrong. Just like some Know Nothing Freepers revenged themselves on Allen on Tuesday based on some absurd notion that "Getting Allen" would help McCain in 2008.

BTW, McCain is politically dead for his part in this. Most Republicans see him and the remaining members of the gang of 14 as a prime authors of our disastrous showing Tuesday. They were more interested the last 4 years in playing political games then moving the ball down the field. We will not forget their part in this.

The joker in the deck here is if the Democrats can sit on their moonbats long enough to NOT screw it up and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

The "Realists" should try reading the data on Iraq instead of clinging to their "realists" ideology dogmas. It is rather interesting.

The US House Republicans were the ONLY people in DC who stood up and fought tooth and nail for Border Security. You people just fired them. You think anyone in DC is going to stand up for Border Control now?

Wow. You really think this guy cares if you respect him? I just wish the Dems would have run on the messages that they were screaming from the rooftops for the past two years. You may not view those who have constantly called for immediate withdrawal as Anti-American, but after what happened in Vietnam and now being on the verge of it happening again, I do.
