1. I went to a cubicle last month to re-image a computer for a new user XP and the previous resident had a thread posted by Swordmaker on the wall. Which included Echo Talon. My God, Echo, we're famous... we are inspiring cubical denizens around the world!

LOL! Its such fun(I hope that I can be of some entertainment value) ;)

I would refrain from generalizing. Rush is an Apple enthusiast, so is Bill Gates for that matter...

The thread was something about Mac VS PC.
And a second about Bill Gates and college.
I think he was money manager. And really liked bananas (lots of pictures). People leave the strangest things when they leave a cubical.

HP running windows 2000 for his work machine. Upgraded to XP. It had his Freeper id but I didn't recognize it so I can't remember. I see license plates that sound like FreeRepublic Ids. while driving, they are everywhere.

I heard about the up coming quadcores. And those who really want power use a workstation with four processors. Which OSs can run something like this with out going to server OSs and would it take A 16 or a 4 processors license.
What is the plural of OS?

Those commercials were so accurate.

Darn. 67 posts into this thread to find that observation.
I thought they were very effective.
Windows is easy to use, and you can put it on any PC, but it's so complex and vulnerable - the administrator level security in Macs really is a better approach.
Sorry to see those end. I liked them.

I'm looking forward to Kentsfield(Core2Quad)... I run 3D Programs as a hobby and it would be wonderful.

We managed to get our QX6700 sample up to 3.2GHz (12 x 266MHz) at the CPU's stock voltage of 1.35V, which isn't bad at all considering we didn't employ any exotic cooling. Bumping the core voltage up to 1.3875V we were able to gain an extra 266MHz and run at 3.46GHz. :D

shoot look at post #229 Over Clocking is a hobbyist pastime.
The people who buy workstation level computers are more interested in the fastest speed that can reliably do their work, not speed for speed's sake. That is why most workstation level machines opt for Fully buffered Error Correcting Circuitry RAM rather than cheaper, faster RAM. It is a trade off of accuracy for speed.
