"In September, Chafee — who was in a tight re-election race — said he would oppose Bolton's nomination until the administration answered questions about its policy in the Middle East"

Chafee needs to answer questions about his sanity.

"The American people have spoken out against the president's agenda on a number of fronts, and presumably one of those is on foreign policy," Chafee said. "And at this late stage in my term, I'm not going to endorse something the American people have spoke out against."

I sent a nice little note to Linc reminding him that Rhode Island had "spoken out" against his own agenda and that somehow in his narcissistic ignorance he had interpreted that as a need to carry the flag for the rest of the American people in opposing the appointment of John Bolton. I further informed him that his loss was not based upon him being Republican (no matter how much he wished it was), but rather upon his total and complete inability to govern in any way other than "bringing home the pork."

Finally, I encouraged him to submit his formal resignation as Republican to the nearest Republican. I shan't imagine we'll miss the self-aggrandizing fool.
