To that end, he sketched out an expansive federal agenda: Teaming up with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on gun control, passing new tax incentives for urban job programs, and redirecting federal money to New York in return for the outsize tax collections that the federal government makes here.

It sounds almost as if Charles Rangel is opposed to the progressive income tax. I'm pretty sure that's not true.

My daughter lives in MS. She just moved there and loves it!
I can't wait to visit her there.
Someone should ask Rangel who the hell would want to live in that slum in NY he represents. Garbage spewing garbage.
It will be so nice when we take it all back in '08.

It's a good time for it....MS is about the last hold that we have on real America....C'mon down!!!!
This is why my husband and I are going out looking to arm ourselves this weekend. (He told a particullarly ugly Dem at work yesterday that he was going to arm himself cause he sure as hell isn't praying to Allah. See why I love him????

The subtext of his statements are clear: Turn off the money flowing to welfare states like Mississippi and Alabama if they don't go along with the program.

I view Mississippi as the future. Imagine all the long term economic strength. Since the unions won't get a foot hold, it could continue to be solid GOP. How about a GOP version of the Free State Project?

By Nov 2008, the dems will have ensured they have an additional 20 million new voters nationwide!

Getting 20 million illegal Mexicans the right to vote in American elections will be their #1 priority to ensure they never loose congress again.

And the saddest part of this mission is that The President will support the dems efforts to grant amnesty, citizenship and voting rights to them.

Rangel is nothing but a two-bit, slick haired, northeastern, metrosexually enlightened, snakeoil selling, bourgeois, elitist, racist, snobbish SOB. Mississippi is too good of a place for the likes of him.

I'd rather live in Missisippi and have a decent peaceful life than live in noisy NYC getting nickeled and dimed to death plus paying the exhorbitant taxes foisted on the populace. This coming from a former NYer now living in Tx.
Been in Mississippi just 3 months ago ....Hattiesburg to Vicksburg.

Oh please, Charlie, make my day. Let's make Born Idiot and Senator Flattop and all of these supposedly "conservative" Democrats that got elected Tuesday have to make a hard decision from day one. Go along with Nancy and Charlie and Schmuckie and the Swimmer and betray the people that elected them? Or buck the leadership?

"Senator Webb, you were elected as a pro-gun Senator with an 'A' rating from the National Rifle Association. Why did you vote for Senator Schumer's bill to further restrict purchases on handguns for law-abiding Americans?"

Oh, and as for living in Mississippi, at least down there they can die from eating trans-fats instead of lead, Chuckie.

HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS YET, SQUISHY MIDDLE?

To that end, he sketched out an expansive federal agenda:

Snort. Make that an expensive agenda...

...the outsize tax collections...

Gee, no bias there, eh?
