I do feel very sad. First, Bush did his best, and Rumsfeld was great. The Democrats made the issue internal politics, instead of focusing on the enemy.

From now on, in my mind, I think of the Democratic Party as the Party of Treason. This is not the first time they have occupied this role. They pressured us to give up fighting the North Koreans, and we quite without achieving victory, helped by RINOs.

They they pressured us into abandoning our allies in Indo-China, with the loss of millions murdered in Cambodia, and thereby kept alive the Communist threat for another generation.

We now know that Ted Kennedy conferred with Soviet agents on ways to undermine Reagan. There is no way to work with someone who will do that, if your aim is to help America. All these supposedly moderate Democrats are in bed with Ted. That goes for Webb. Their conscience is dead. (Set that to rap, if you will.)

Now they are pushing to have us leave Iraq prematurely. I do not have any respect for the Democrats, nor really for anyone who supported them. There are some good people who voted mistakenly for the Democrats, but there are also nice alcoholics, and interesting psychotics. We are all people, but one does not need to have admiration for evil policies and their supporters.

If you don't think that we lost some good congresscritters, read this:

This was not about Bush for me. It is about rinos, and they were hammered pretty hard. Also, sometimes evil needs to be revealed before it can really be destroyed.

What would have happened to the world if Hitler had been assassinated by that bomb? What would have happened in the middle east if we had taken out Saddam in the first war? What STILL may happen?

The book of Revelation is a good teacher about what is, always has, and with a vengeance will happen in the end.

Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. And YES, I expect a VERY devastating attack on our homeland in the next two years.

I agree the loss of Rick Santorum shows that the election was more about "any change is good change" rather than a rejection of RINO values.

Conservatism would be better served by running conservative candidates in the primaries, and conservatives getting more involved in party politics. This notion of sitting out if the party doesn't do what they want, all the time and on every issue, only serves to make conservatives look childish and inflexible. RINOs get into office because they get voted in from the people, esp. Republicans in the primaries. The character of our government is a reflection of its voting citizens, i.e. we get the government we deserve.

Reagan worked with a Democrat Congress to the detriment of the national debt and a failed illegal immigration policy, all so he could win the battles he could. Were he president today, many here on FR would be calling him a RINO as well.

In addition, we see collectivist thinking in places like Ohio, where congressional races were lost due a governor's indescretion. Believe it or not, there is no lie detector test or psychological evaluations for honesty to become a Republican, nor should we condemn an entire political party over the behavior of a few of its members.

How many conservatives who are married out there can say they have the perfect spouse? For that matter, how many conservatives out there can say their past and/or present behavior is as spotless as what they demand from their representatives? People are people and as such are flawed, and basically you have to accept them as they are. Wait around for the perfect politician, and you'll be waiting a long time.

Expelling conservatives already in office who may occasionally falter and replacing them with valueless socialists doesn't do anything good for this nation.
