The guest worker program is practical. He knows it because he is from Texas. California, Texas, et al must have a guest worker program.

If that's your stance, so be it. That isn't ohioWfan's stance. So you too have integrity. I never said Bush lacked integrity, so I'm not sure why you included me on this message.

Yes, but I understand that Bolton wouldn't get paid if he does that. Bolton has been so wonderful. I hate to see him leave.

I am agreeing with each of you that Bush has integrity.

I differ with all of you in that I believe we definitely need a guest worker program. I'm not blind to the situation around me. A guest worker program would take the load off the ERs and other county programs while it would provide workers for the formerly Republican farmers. Farmers who are still conservative but voted Democrat because they cannot survive without a guest worker program.

This nomination is so irking.....if Democrats are so confident that he is such a bad ambassador, just give him a full floor vote and move on to another issue.

I know they already got Chafee on their side, even now.

Either consent, or don't consent, but not this wavering BS.

You know, I wrestle with the thought myself. I always thought of him as a principled man who is in a little over his head. He can grasp the simple moral issues of good vs. evil and right vs. wrong - which is more than can be said for most politicians. But when he tries to master the art of politics, we get a trillion dollar entitlement program, Harriet Myers, and the forced resignation of two of his most important staff members.

I think there's a reason Clinton and Bush 41 became friends....just about everyone is over his head with the current breadth of presidential responsibility.

Look at Clinton in '92, in '96, and in '00. He aged 20 years.

Bush did no such thing. Educate yourself.

Rumsfeld had offered to resign previously and President Bush didn't accept it. This time he did.

The new left wing Congress, elected by Liberals and Libertarians, planned to string Rumsfeld up and he would not be able to perform his duties as SoD.

Bush has fought for Bolton. There would be no Bolton in the UN at all if it weren't for Bush's loyalty to him.

Your distaste for the President, for whatever reason you have it, has tainted your logic.

Now bash away. Say absurd things. Fabricate, attack, vent, do whatever you want. The foolishness of your words will speak for themselves in time.

you never challenge him

while still professing blind support for Bush. Is that integrity?

Two lies, one accusing me of lacking integrity.

All because I can support President Bush while disagreeing about the guestworker program.

Neither of these are 'misinterpretations.' They both came after I had said that I disagreed with him, and yet you still made the false accusations.

btw, calling me a Bushbot as a personal attack is really lame. You should know by know that those of us who respect President Bush aren't hurt by that stupid attack, so you might as well give it up. It just makes you look silly.

Next, he'll flip on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Either that, or he'll come out of the closet as a Democrat.

Here's another example. A man of integrity would not 'flip' on funding a program he believes is using human life as 'spare parts' (his words).

And next you said.....

I know he has integrity. That's why he's giddy about the guest worker program he wants being closer to a reality

Was this sarcasm? Saying "I know he has integrity" after saying he would abandon his core, spiritually based principles about the value of human life because of a change in control of Congress?

You can claim your own integrity until the cows come home, Carling, but if you have it, you know that you have not shown it on this thread.

I haven't 'misinterpreted' a thing. Your own words, plain and direct, belie your claim of integrity.

Now, I really don't want to continue this. You haven't based anything you've said to me on facts about the President or Bolton, and that's the purpose of this thread.

Call me any names you want. The truth of what you've done is here in black and white, and unless you delete your own posts, it's going to remain. There's no sense in my coming back to argue what has already been established by your own words.

You made absurd attacks on the President which you could not back up, and then you lied.........yes, lied.........and said you believed he was a man of integrity.

This discussion is over.

Two lies, one accusing me of lacking integrity.

You brought up integrity first. I merely pointed out that you have your own issues on that subject. Don't shoot the messenger.

I brought up the integrity issue only because two different people, your being one of them, made wild predictions on what President Bush would now do, that no one who possessed character would ever do.

You, the critical moral issue of stem cell research, implying that the President would abandon his core spiritual values, and the other the mission in Iraq, implying that the President would abandon our troops and the entire focus of his presidency since 9/11.

Your words speak for themselves. Everything you do henceforth will be an attempt to twist what you said into something other than what it was.

Call me names. Do whatever you like. But you have said what you have said, and unless you take your words back, the truth is out there for all to see.

Next time be more careful when you try to impress your Bush bashing buddies with how nasty you can be. Words have consequences. It would behoove you to accept the consequences of your own.

Good day, Carling.

Bingo. Rummy decided it was time to go and left. See, that's the different between us and them, GOP resign out of a sense of duty and honor. DEMs cling on to their seats or had to be fired.

All right....all you "Bush is caving" whiners can shut the heck up now!!!

Amen.

I just wonder if Frist can pull Chafee off the committee that was blocking Bolton.

I think we are going to see a far more aggressive Bush now that the Democrats control the Congress.

Replace Chafee on the committee. Then push through committee and onto the floor for a straight up or down vote.

Seems simple enough to me.

Particularly since Chafee is making noises about leaving the GOP (as if he was ever a member!).

All we need for confirmation is a floor vote in this lame duck Senate.

Convince any rational person that this Commander in Chief is going to abandon his troops. Convince any decent man or woman that he will abandon his fight to protect the American people against an evil enemy, just because you don't happen to like him, mr Texas nobody.....

You are nothing short of a fool, Federalist. And an ignorant one at that.

God bless our Commander in Chief, and God bless our troops and protect them from enemies abroad and at home!

I'm really sick of your moronic crap. Don't ping me anymore. My statement, as you quoted, is "I wouldn't be surprised" if he announced troop withdrawals. Don't mischaracterize my statements or Carling's because you don't understand the nuances of the English language. Unfortunately, vocabulary is not your strong point. Either is intelligent discourse. You are a gifted lemming, however.

Nice contortion, Fed.

Did you learn your 'nuance' from the left, or did you come up with it all by your lonesome?

I said it but I didn't mean it, eh? You 'wouldn't be surpised' if the Commander in Chief abandoned our troops and their mission...........but you didn't REALLY mean it, and I'm a 'lemming' for calling you on it.

That's how it works..........right?

You spout whatever bile you feel like, and then just say you didn't really mean it and that it was the 'nuance of the English language' that I'm too stupid to get.

Cute trick. I wouldn't expect anything more clever from John Kerry.
