I mean BEFORE THE NEW SENATE STARTS.
They're on break but will re-convene before the newly elected Dems take office in January.
YOU should pay a little attention.

I suppose, but I doubt it. I know the Dems can oust Bolton, and I pray that doesn't happen, but the Dems aren't very bright.

Yes. I DO think they'll pass the Nuclear Option, and I will be laughing my head off at those who said we shouldn't because we wouldn't want to give it to them.Maybe the Democrats will even call it the "Constitutional" option. :-)

Lott says he wants to get back into the leadership in January. He said that before the election.

Sorry. I apparently misinterpreted. I checked what you were responding to, but was put off by all the profanity aimed at our team.
To: rhombus
If they pass the nuclear option, the Dems will welcome it for the 110th Congress.

Chaffee just held a news conference and said he WILL oppose Bolton's confirmation. A jerk till the end.

I wouldn't put it past them to promise to let Bolton get a vote if Rummy got 86ed and then to go back on their word and filibuster him.

LoL. Gee, it made sense when I wrote it, must be gremlins on the attack.
Anyway McCain did not cost the GOP the Senate. Nor did Miss Graham. Any "analysis" which says they did is simplistic at best.

Bolton has done a good job. We will see if the Democrats demand his head as the price of "making nicey" with the Bush Administration. I believe the Dems would prefer it if the UN were treated with unthinking reverence.
To: Howlin
No way. I'd bet my house on it. Hmmm. Is it a nice house? =)

Bush isn't dumb. I bet he expected this election result.
I mean, geez....even popular wartime presidents have had tremendous losses in the 6th term, and right now, he is not popular unfortunately.

Being a Congressman is such a nice gig....get tons of gigs and you never actually have to write your own bills. That is what the staff is for.
