The people rule in America and what needs to happen in Iraq is not more killing - but working with the Iraqis realistically - with respect toward who they are - with the goal of leaving them with a system that will not be a breeding ground for terrorists and is a better place than the one we invaded.

There is nothing in that statement that says Iraq is like Sweden. It says, specifically, that we need to respect who the Iraqis are. We need to respect their mentality, their beliefs, their attitudes, their culture etc

It may be that three semi-autonomous regions under a loose federal system [if something can be figured out to do with Baghdad] is a good way to go. Each region must be safe and secure and all Iraqis need to benefit from the oil money.

But it is not helpful for us to do more killing or breaking of things.

One of their strongly held beliefs is that several million of their countrymen need to die immediately.

That's nice. Lemme guess, Americans get to do all the heavy lifting.
