It is beautiful up here. We've always loved it.
It's funny, we have lived up here before and never
remember rain like this. But we were embarrassed
to ask if it was unusual. We didn't know how
serious it was until we turned on the weather channel.

My aunt has lived on the Olympic peninsula all her life, and told me years ago that if she could get through February without dying her hair, she knew she'd be all right. I think the long winter nights there add to the gloom.

I'm flying to Seattle tomorrow to see my in-laws.

Olympia is gorgeous...fairly ideal weather too--except for this recent flooding thingy.
