And you can bet that these Dems, feeling emboldened, will spend the next two years hard at work getting the GOP back in shape for a big comeback in '08.

The 2006 midterm election was a battle, just one battle, not the war itself. The big one will be '08. We'll win that one.

Thank you for the essay, JohnHuang. Hopefully things will turn out for the better next time.

Just exactly what I need to read.

... The stuff these groups will be pushing for is very unpopular, which is why, before the elections, they hid Pelosi in a cave in Tora Bora.

Curiosity caused me to check how many votes ol' Nancy got in her re-election bid from that bastion of free thinking demented folks in San Francisco... 80.5% of the vote.

Now, does anyone in their right mind (or even left mind) think that this nation is going to fall in lockstep with those characters who call San Francisco home? The pubbie over there pulled in 10.5% so there are some stable folks living there. It's a real shame that those 10.5% have to be surrounded by so many lunatics.

Okay, rant over... I'll sit back and watch the MSM attack the Dem controlled House and Senate for the next two years. The claim to be unbiased so the fireworks should start in January.

He Did It

READ: 2 Timothy 2:1-10

The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. —2 Timothy 2:2

At the memorial service for LeRoy Eims, longtime staff member with The Navigators, I pondered why hundreds of colleagues and friends had come from across the US to pay tribute. Why did so many people love him so deeply?

As a young Christian, LeRoy had been challenged to disciple others one-on-one. He took seriously Paul’s charge to Timothy: “The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:2). LeRoy embraced that clear, simple command of Scripture and practiced it faithfully for more than 50 years.

Scores of people who packed the church that afternoon had lived in LeRoy and Virginia Eims’ home. They had been embraced, encouraged, and instructed by him. As his spiritual children, they had multiplied his ministry by investing themselves in others, just as he had in them.

One sentence in a written tribute captured the essence of the man: “His life was characterized by singleness of purpose, great creativity and a wonderful sense of humor.”

LeRoy’s example spurs us on to a lifetime of faithfully following the Lord. He did it! And by God’s grace, so can we. David C. McCasland

It is in loving—not in being loved—
The heart is blessed;
It is in giving—not in seeking gifts—
We find our quest.  —Anon.

You can teach more with your life than with your lips.

GREAT JOB JOHN & DUTCHESS

It is hard to crawl out of our pity parties, but we must do so & get back to work for "the cause".

Thank you both for this joint effort to add some humor to the mix. We will survive & we will trod on... I am not happy with the result, but I AM HAPPY to live in a country where we have free elections

Short and to the point. Thanks JH2. MSM keeps hammering us with all this POWER the Dems now have......so I appreciate you putting things in perspective.
