You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet, Says 'President Hillary'

You ain't seen nothing yet, says 'President Hillary'

Some supporters already refer to Hillary Clinton as "Mrs President" and although she remains steadfastly to be drawn on a possible White House bid, her re-election in New York will only fuel speculation that she is poised for a historic run for the presidency.

Bill Clinton congratulates Hillary after her re-election

The former first lady won a crushing victory over her Republican opponent, securing almost 70 per cent of the vote in the overwhelmingly Democratic state and even picking up support in more traditionally Republican areas.

Exhaustive campaigning – considered overkill by many in a race she was almost certain to win – has convinced commentators she is "exercising her campaign muscles" for a bid for the Democratic nomination for the presidency in 2008.

But there was no word yesterday from Sen Clinton on anything beyond the immediate future as she delivered a brief victory speech, declaring that being senator was "the greatest privilege I could have".

But as she left the stage, the sounds of the rousing rock classic You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet boomed forth.

Sen Clinton outspent every other politician running for office, laying out almost $30 million. Much of it went on television advertising but she was also generous to fellow Democrats in New York and beyond, especially those in tight races. It was one of many tactics analysts interpreted as preparation for a presidential bid.

"She'll be able to collect her chips, as we say, at some point from those she's helping out," said Prof Steven Brams, of New York University.

Despite her spending, the senator is still estimated to have about $15 million in the bank, which could be used for a White House run. Given her celebrity profile and the clout of her friends, fund-raising is unlikely to be an issue she has to worry about. More problematic could be convincing the party she has broad enough appeal to win over the country her husband once ran.

But Tuesday's result, in which she triumphed in districts she previously lost, demonstrated her efforts to appeal both to independent voters and more moderate conservatives were at least in part successful.

During the campaign, Sen Clinton, 59, focused on her achievements since election to the Senate in 2000. She also attacked the Bush administration's strategy in Iraq and urged Donald Rumsfeld to resign.

"The message couldn't be clearer: that it is time for a new course," Sen Clinton told cheering supporters yesterday, the former president, Bill Clinton, beside her.

"New Yorkers and Americans want an end to the culture of corruption and the dominance of special interests and a new beginning to our beloved country."

"she is an enabler of a sexual predator that constantly cheated on her.

She could care less what Bill did, or who he did, as long as it wasn't her and it didn't mess up her ultimate plan of world domination. She wasn't enabling anyone, she was focused on her own agenda. He was/is just a prop and a good person to have beside her in pictures. They're stuck together now because they both know where all the bodies are buried. (Literally.)

Campaign 2008 officially begins today.

Who on our side can beat her?

And which seats are in play for 2008?

Your point about foul language is right on. Doesn't belong here at FR.

Hillary, after spending $40 million in a basically uncontested race in a totally blue state, got 67% of the vote. She polled behind Spitzer 70% and Schumer's last race 73%.

The only trap that is being set is one of our own making. I don't care what anyone says there is NO WAY Hitlery can gain a larger percent of the vote than her politically endowed husband. The most he was able to get was 49%. The only way Hitlery is getting back to the White House is if the Repubs nominate an open border, globalist, moderate because he or she seems "electable". This will cause a repeat of this past election with conservatives staying home or voting for a trade protectionist, small government, reformist, border hawk 3rd party. Think 1992..... With the current disillusionment of many on the right I see this as a real possibility.

Precisely! The "lesson" that the Republicans were supposed to learn from yesterday's elections is that the country is not interested in conservative values; therefore, the Republicans will put up a weak, moderate in 2008; rather than a strong conservative. Ouila', the Conservative base stays home, Hillary captures the left and center, and we have Ms. President.

It was a masterful job without a doubt. All these Republican scandals this year. Quite the coincidence......unless of course, you knew where you could get your hands on a few hundred FBI files......

See post 44.

Anyone with a set of balls that is ideologically in the area of Rep. Mike Pence can beat her.

If we put up a moderate, the WH is as good as hers.

If Rudy is the Republican nominee, I can promise you there will be a small gov., pro-life, border hawk 3rd party candidate who will get 25% of the vote. Lady Klinton will asend the throne.

I predict Bill Clinton will be dead in about 22 months so the nation will be voting for the poor grieving widow. She's THAT calculating.

Magical thinking. Rudy has been leading in all polling for almost 2 years now. He even leads among conservative, knowledgeable Iowa caucus voters. Sure there will be some social right litmus test voters who will pout and stay home but that won't matter . He will win by 40 some states. By the way he is on record for securing the border.

Oh, I see.....just like Bush. Maybe you don't remember 1992 but I do. By the way, what polls are you reading? I thought McCain was leading all of the MSM polls that conveniently leave out any and all conservatives.

Why should I say I almost don't care.

We're facing the greatest challenge of our nation's existence in the WAR we are in with pan-islamism. Instead we seem to dawddle on the now nearly wrought hilarious spectacle of American politics.

Oh, God, when are we going to get a pair, and do what must be done NOW to end this savagery lest it visit our own children's throats.

Are Americans really that blindsided and stupid to know that Billery only cares about one thing. Billery. It has been obvious for years that she is in charge of her own train and it won't be stopped. That would be a train wreck of historic proportions. I cannot believe that people can not see through that bull. She is a stinko pinko and even the democrats better watch out for this potential mess!!!
