Pelosi: Democrats ready to lead 08/11/2006 - 17:39:25
Set to become the US' first female speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi says Democrats are "ready to lead" in partnership with Republicans, "not in partisanship".
President George Bush called Pelosi with congratulations this morning after Democrats took firm control of the House, rebounding after a dozen years in the minority.
Pelosi, 66, who made history four years ago when she became the first woman to lead a party caucus in either house of Congress, will become third in line of succession to the president when she is elevated to the speaker's position at the beginning of the new Congress in January.
It will be the highest elective office ever reached by a woman in the US.
Pelosi will be formally re-elected as her party's leader, and its nominee to be speaker, when the Democratic caucus meets on November 16 to choose its standard-bearers for the next Congress.
Democrats, Pelosi said, "intend to lead the most honest, the most open and the most ethical Congress in history".

In order for the new Congress to be the most ethical, Pelosi would have to start with her own resignation followed by all her Liberal cohorts. IMO, she's amoral and incompetent.
That is SUCH a sick thought. You should be ashamed (so should I). :-)

"The Most Ethical Administration In History"-William Jefferson Clinton (D-AR) 1992
If you abolish all the rules of ethics, you never have the possibility of violating them.
Now that's funny.
I am only wondering when the dirty tricks will begin. Not that they haven't already started, but as just so we'll begin to notice.
I'm sure that Congress will run like a well-oiled machine now. /s
Well, we need to shift gears and hold her to that high standard. Maybe there will be a "culture of corruption" among Democrats in the next 2 years that will hurt the Dems. politically. Stay tuned.
This could actually help Repub. because if they try to pass crazy laws, George W. is still there to veto them.
A bigger threat may be if Dems. keep their congressional advantage in '08, combined with President Hillary or President Obama. Stay tuned.
"Didn't we hear the same thing from Bill Clinton when he took over?"
Yes we did, but he's still trying to get his zipper closed before Hillary's big stomp begins in earnest, which is in about 15 minutes.

I see a total breakdown of House discipline and civility within a handful of months, or even weeks on account of her inability to deal with moral sensibilities.
So this means a complete 180 on the Dem side? High bar, Nancy.
I can't stop laughing either. How in the world the party of bill clinton can scream about corruption and ethics is just so beyond me!!!
LOL

Let's see if Nancy's enforcement authorities have turn signals on the left side of their cruisers.
With Barney Frank has chairman of a committee, etc. Send in the Jackasses.
Ping to ya'
Bill's legacy got whacked, pronto and forever. Waco be damned.
Just reading her name makes my eyes feel dirty.
