Part of the reason why that whole Blue State/Red State thing is entirely backward.
The left side of the spectrum is Red, the right is Blue. Same thing with the pH scale which goes from acidic Left to Conservative base.
A "blue dog" is a Dem that's more like a Pubbie. But the Dems are "blue"??

The reversing of the traditional meanings of `red' and `blue' was intentionally perpetrated by the MSM during the 1980 presidential election, to make the conquering tide of Republican victories across the U.S. appear sinister. The tactic has been employed ever since to separate the color red from those who should be known as Reds or Red sympathizers.
Down south, we embrace the notion of `red states' as those with a high content of red clay in the soil.
