Perspective folks! It’s not the end of the world. The sun is going to come up tomorrow!

I swear if you read this web site today you’d think it was a liberal pansy web site! The hand wringing, the wondering how we’ll survive! PLEASE!

Your success or failure in life does not depend on who is running the show in Washington D.C. It’s all about you! You determine if you’ll be successful or not! It’s the lefties who think someone else determines their destiny! Carpe Deim!

What this means is we’ll have to spend less time making money and more time working on how to keep more of what we’ve made. Play their game and beat them at it. They are in the government, it’s not really hard to outsmart them!

I guess what I’m saying is this… better yourself, always strive for improvement and above all never stop learning! The lefties are willing to play the blame game and blame this or that for their failure. You and I know you determine how well you do in life!

Get Busy!

It is a narrow margin and one which could flip back in the next election -- hardly a "tidal wave" or "mandate".

We need to start a nationwide Freeper barter program. No cash changes hands, no taxes paid to the Dems to fund their social programs.

Can't wait to blame everything on them true or not for a change.

My son's LIFE depends on who is running the show in D.C., and the odds of him living to the end of his tour in Afghanistan have just dropped sharply.

Same for my nephews who are serving in Iraq.

America just voted to lose the war on terror.

If I can survive losing a daughter in 2004, my brother in May of this year, my husband in July and my bil in July, then we can survive this.

Amen. I was looking at the positive side by thinking how nice it is to see "niceness" coming from the media. We needed a respite from the constant attack machine. Isn't it amazing how everyone "gets along" when the dims are in power? Sure is a graphic illustration of just who was doing all the "partisan bickering". When they are in power it quietens down because Republicans are just nicer people, and allows them to govern. They never let Republicans do the job. So now, we here at FR can think up creative ways to make life miserable for them. I'm not so nice. Been thinking of making a Burka to send to Witch Nancy. (Gosh, I hate that I have to share her name).

There will be a lot of one term wonders. Many of these RAT newbies ran as conservative-lites and will self-destruct 2 years from now when their actaul voting records get highlighted.

Divided gov't usually keeps everyone truer to the voters. And then there is Bush.

Assuming that "Jericho" doesn't make the jump from "television drama" to "reality show" during that one term.

No kidding. It's disgusting. You win some, you lose some. Our mandate is the same as it has always been: convince people we offer better solutions and ideas, and the rest falls into place.

If we fail there, the process suddenly ends. So lets keep on truckin!

Right on! And look folks, we lost. Bigtime. Let's not emulate the whiney DUmmies by blaming everything and everybody under the sun - that's not how WE work. Save the blame, let's sort some things out and get moving in the right direction.

For every door that closes, another door opens. Who will rise to provide leadership into 2008 and beyond? Will we settle for RINOs who happen to have lots of cash or will we demand true leadership from the Republican party, and a return to conservative principles?

We can't change the past - but we CAN create the future. Let's get started, and stop pouting like the other side doesn when they lose!

After getting up this morning and coming back home, I agree life's gonna go on - actually after listening to Rush L today, he did put in perspective that we're gonna have to just deal with it and reorganize.

First of all, there is no way that this Congress is going to pull a cut and run - Bush told Iraq we're giving em 18-24 months to get their act together and then we are going to redeploy to other areas (outlying and hopefully more to Afghanistan). I have no doubt that we're going to be over there for at least another 3 years albeit under a new plan - one that just isn't Dem but takes the advice of guys like McCain, Hagel, etc. That might not be such a bad thing? If it's a cluster f then in 2 years, Republicans will take back what we lost.

A lot of Dems elected in Congress are actually more conservative than the Republicans they beat so this is not going to be a straight party line Congress particularly on immigration reform, SS reform, Medicare, minimum wage, jobs, etc. The tax cuts will not disappear in a year nor will new taxes be imposed - Dems will walk a tight line in my opinion and in reality, let them cut spending to get the budgets back in line (fine with me if they can - if they can't then it's their mess - people have short memories)

I do think that the Dems in Congress are actually more moderate than flaming libs - and this will bear well for Presidential elections where McCain or Giuliani will prevail - since she will probably head up the Senate, I actually think Hillary is going to bag on running for Pres (a smart move on her part) and that either Barack Obama, Vilchek, John Edwards, will run under the Dem banner
So I see things as looking bright in the future

No, just the beginning of the end.

Rather more appropriately, how about "the end of the beginning," in the terms of taking back America? The pendulum is still swinging conservativeward, and the Democrats, liberals, and DUmmies are getting older and gradually eroding into extinction; this was probably their last hurrah.

I look at it as a correction in course; as a stark reminder to those of us who forgot to stick with principle.

Unfortunately I think you're right. I think it's pretty telling that the Sunni's are talking about pulling out of the govt. if the militias aren't disbanded. They see what's coming. The Shiites are backed by Iran and as we withdraw it's all over for them.

Disagree. Funding the war has to happen affirmatively. That means it has to get out of the house appropriations committee. So a veto or a filibuster has no effect. It'll never get out of committee. That's the way the dems lost the Vietnam war.

The dems have already forced a cut-and-run by their success last night. All that matters now is who gets blamed for it when the middle east blows up after we leave. Instead of working to make sure the blame goes where it belongs, I see our R leaders in Washington working hard to give the dems political cover for quitting--Bill Frist's bs statement today being the worst of it. We should make the dems do it all by themselves.
