I wish it was the other way around...let Bush resign and Cheney finish the next two years as POTUS with Lynn or Rummy as VP.

Cheney wouldn't step down because he's had disagreements with the President. For the good of the country he'd stick out the next two years.

Cheney could resign for health reasons That would be very scary. Pelosi would be next in line until there was a replacement, and the Senate would have to confirm the replacement.

Cheney is the only one protecting Bush from impeachment. The Libs will go after both, but can only get one at a time. If he retains any sense it should know Cheney is more repugnant to Kooks and therefore his buffer.
he had better treat him with more respect then he did Rummy and Ashcroft. Though I don't hold out hope.
