You know, Bush has screwed the pooch again. I don't want an intelligence weanie to be the Sec Def. I want a fighter, someone who knows the DoD inside out, who can make things happen, who can fight a war and not mince words. That is the antithesis of what a political intelligence officer does for a living.

General Schwartzkopf has been retired for more than 10 years - Bush should've nominated him.

Bush should have nominated Lieberman, that way the GOP gov. could replace him with a pubbie. While we are at it try to get Bill Nelson to take the job of FEMA director. I doubt that would be enough to lure him though.
