I'm sick and tired of OUR SIDE falling on their sword to appease DUmocrats...something their side NEVER does.
And STARTs endless confirmation hearings for a replacement who won't be as good...Oh yeah...we really come out good on this one ... NOT!
I'm getting too old for this stuff anyway, and will try to serve my current commitment, which ends in June of next year. If anything, I may re-up for one more year and leave in 2008.
Two theories:
1.Get someone in Sec of Def position before January change of leadership.
or
2.They offered Lieberman the position and the Republican Gov of CT will raplce him with a Republican who will give the GOP the majority back. However, there is not a snowballs chance in hell that Lieberman would give up his Senate position for Sec of Def.
Can we do hearings and confirmation before Xmas with the current Congress or will a new appointment/confirmation have to wait for the 'Rat Congress??? Anyone know? Of course the 'Rats will try to delay it and then they will savage any nominee in hearings like the treasonous weasels they are.... no real concern for the troops in the field, the 'Rats will just be happy to try to score points against the WH and the new DoD nominee.

When Rush first came back from a commercial break it was obvious that one of his cohorts in the studio told him to try to smooth things over. It was obvious that someone in his crowd understood the possibility that people in the audience could interpret Rush's words as uncouth. And they were (jmo).
I heard the whole thing. I cringed as soon as I heard his words. Rush is far from a person who influences others to his side, and that is what we really need.

Because last week, the electorate had not spoken. Boortz was talking about the election results being a "well-deserved kick" and perhaps SecDef Rumsfeld did not like being the kickee. I'm sorry he will not stay on to fight the fight that sadly is needed over the next two years. Maybe the thinking is that the confirmation process will delay the gutting of the military agenda that the RATs are warming up in the green room. We have no right asking Rummy to endure that.
