Well at least we seem to have finally driven a stake through the heart of the odious Cruz Bustamante. And the insurance commissioner is a pretty powerful post in California. I am very glad to see it back in Republican hands.
I love Tom McClintock, but his race should be viewed as a high-water mark for a conservative in California. Conservatism is done in that state. It is no longer the state of Reagan and Deukmejian. Republicans have got to follow Arnold and move to the center, or risk never winning a statewide election again.

And the insurance commissioner is a pretty powerful post in California. I am very glad to see it back in Republican hands. Poizner may be less of a Republican than Schwarzenegger. He was giving to Al Gore a couple years ago and wouldn't support Bush in the last election.
