I remember you Ivan, thought you were pretty cool actually. Crap happens over time. I saw what churchill was fighting against similar to what we are today - bigger government and intrusion into our privacy.
Everything we fought clinton on we gave bush a pass on.

intrusion into our privacy Well, now you can all take away the right to spy on the terrorists & we can all enjoy a nice nuclear attack one of these days! Thanks much!

I see. And how does voting in Democrats help any of the causes you describe?
There was an opportunity to stick it to less than acceptable Republicans. It's called the Primaries. This even happened in the Alaska primary for Governor.
The international message sent by this is as follows:
- America no longer has the will to fight in Iraq.
- America's political system can be influenced by terrorism in Iraq (and elsewhere)
- America's government is effectively decapitated.
That is what you voted for, those are the results that have come through, and now we are all going to have to live with the consequences. I hope that your petulant outburst at the Republicans was worth all that. Those who take a longer term view are horrified by what has just happened.

I saw what churchill was fighting against similar to what we are today - bigger government and intrusion into our privacy. Didn't a war against a guy named Hitler figure in there somewhere, bunky? Since he was in coalition with Labor, it seems unlikely that he was fighting against big government or intrusion into privacy!
