Having a minimum wage is a consensus issue. And if there is any time to raise it, it is when the unemployment rate is 4.4%, all the retailers and small businesses are decked with "help wanted" signs, and corporate profits are at record highs. Trying to shove an economic ideology down the people's throats that they do not agree with is a recipe for electoral defeat not prosperity.
