Not just good. Novel, if they're counted legally.

Bush is a lame duck? LOL! Just watch Comrade Pelosi try to get anything done.

Ditto that! Can we say "Gridlock" for the next 2 Years at least?
Prez Bush wiil have no use for his dried out veto pen, because nothing will come out of the House and/or Senate.

I can see the Democrats pissing and moaning that the Republicans (recovering from a very bad bruised lip) are thwarting the will of the people and not cooperating!

"I will tell you, in NY, I am more pissed about the Comptroller than the House of Representatives. We just re-elected a man who embezzled $100k worth of services from the state for his wife - and he's the damned fiscal watchdog."

Isn't that hysterical?
He's probably going to be impeached before the swearing in!

But he has a good heart.

Actually, the pathetic excuse I heard the Democratic chairman make was "You can't judge a man's 20-year career based on one incident."

Like hell I can't.

Spitzer, Clinton; they don't piss me off. I knew they were coming (and frankly, Spitzer ranks as a great AG in my opinion for the way he resurrected the Martin Act and took on Wall Street.) Hevesi, OTOH - that really bothers me.

Democrats define their very existence by government. When they lose control of government, it is like taking all the oxygen out of the air for them.

Conservatives have far more meaningful and richer lives. Just compare the kinds of the threads and posts that appear at DU to those at FR. FR is a fun, richly-varied, and hopeful place.

On its best days, DU is a dank and dreary DUngeon.

Here's the best part: the Demoncrats are destined to lose again, and in a BIG way.

This is a temporary and relatively modest swing their direction. The brutal reality is, they are doomed by demographic trends. They are not reproducing (abortion, euthanasia, and gay marriage are demographic dead ends). Democrats, especially the more liberal among them, are becoming extinct. That's a fact.

Blue states are projected to lose 10-15 congressional seats to red states in the reapportionment following the 2010 election alone.

Liberalism didn't win this time out. Bush hate won. Bush's term ends in two years. What will they do then?

Tonight, liberals are dead men cheering.

If you think about it the election was very much front center church and faith but under the heading of "gay priests, separation of church/state... a very secretarian view all wrapped up in a value bow. Scary.

It'll be interesting to see how this dooms the Democrats in 2008.

Come on rooster. Let's be adults. You can show your anger without dropping F-bombs, etc. Your post will undoubtedly show up around the net as how the members of FR are all psychotic. I'm just as upset, but I allow my children to read this site because we do not typically post like this.

Love the name, don't think Wayne would approve of the language on a public forum

"The Period between 2004 and now will go down as one the the Biggest Wasted Opportunities in Political History"

More like 2001-now. R's have had control of the entire federal government since Jan, 2001, but somehow we still have gun control laws, the AMT, estate and death taxes, pork spending beyond even the 'rat's wildest dreams, CFR, the list goes on and on. (Well, ok, not actually beyond the 'rat's wildest dreams, not even close.)

One thing I get to look forward to, will be the power struggle between Nancy Pelosi and Jack Murtha. Well she become the Majority leader or will Jack Murtha undermine her and fight for control. Time for the Democrats to have civil war within their party. The Democrats who campaigned on conservative principals will want prime committee chairs since they are the reason the Democrats have taken majority.

Pelosi was in yesterday's paper promising to reverse the tax cuts, all of them.

Bingo. If the Republicans play this right, it means a White House win in 08'. This was mostly about a war that's dragged on for too long....not about taxes.

This not a awful thing. Will the Republicans finally get back on the reservation? They will have to to get the house back in 08'.

But looks like the GOP's failures brought this on themselves ... failures being protecting america from the mexican invasion, fixing social security, reducing federal spending. IMO as far as entitlement spending goes, the GOP is no different then the democrats

You make great points

But...

The House republicans had the toughest illegal immigration bill. JD Hayworth lost tonight.

Im a big supporter of the Iraq War but I cannot ignore the republicans Im hearing on conservative talk radio right now calling and saying they either did not vote or voted democrat because if Iraq. I think we tied the hands of our troops to the point that it slowed down the victory. We just have to stop worrying about Europe's concern how we treat terrorists. We really do.

What's it look like with the state Senate?

Last I heard, it stayed (R). For all it matters. Bruno, Silver and Pataki are the most corrupt triumverate in American politics.

I agree with you ... looks like we are following in the footsteps of Spain and Italy.

Also, might as well pull out the checkbooks, it is going to get expensive again!!!!

Fox News showed the Future Leaders of the House Committees
Nancy Pelosi - Speaker
Alcee Hastings - Intelligence and an Impeached Federal Judge - Are you kidding me!
Charles Rangold - House Ways and Means
Henry Waxman - Judicial

What a Crew ... Heaven help us!
