One thing that may be depended upon - Dem'crats will be unable to stop themselves from being Dem'crats, and they will overreach. And since their reach will certainly exceed their grasp, they will be like the kid who tried to pull the whole fistful of cookies out of the cookie jar.
They are going to have to let go of something before they may pull out anything.
The Dem'crats may have a slim majority, but they shall not have a mandate.

Agreed. Its not a mandate for the Democrats. Its more of a protest vote against Bush and to a lesser extent against the Republicans.

And I said fangs, not fags.

The Dems startegy this time: non-stop Bush and Iraq bash with the help of the media; mudsling on every GOP candidate about sex, lies, corruption; run "conservative" and military candidates in red-state areas; say nothing in regard to plans and solutions, just muddy the water and play on the voters fear and frustration.
Seems to have worked - in certain areas, anyway. I must say the GOP helped make this possible by not doing enough to keep the focus on good economy, important issues, etc. But they had an uphill fight.
