When I write 'Mexican', I mean Mexican. An illegal alien from mexico is a Mexican, not a Mexican-American.*

The naturalization of those hardworking people, as Reagan did, could be used to turn those aliens into true Americans that pay taxes and appreciate private property rights, etc. Hence, their conservative, predominantly catholic tendencies might've been attracted to a Republican Party that said, "You're here, now come forward, pay up, and join in." Instead, the GOP said, "Dirty Mexicans, GO HOME and STAY OUT."
