"The war is over man and we lost it. America wants Iraq done and over with. As wrong as that decision is, it's been made. Being angry won't change crap.

Those of us who have sent family over there have enormous emotional energy invested, My son came home Friday from Baghdad, you can't just shrug your shoulders and shuffle off. He lost 2 good friends last month. I know being angry is not constructive but how about a little space? Can't we at least grieve for 27 million people we'll abandon who are going straight to hell?

I share your sentiments but I basically think we have won Iraq to such an extent that it is basically Sunnis that are 'going straight to hell.' I don't say that to justify it but Shiites and Kurds are secure. If we would stay the course, we could minimize the backlash to Sunnis. WE should stay the course, but in the worst case scenarios it will be a Sunni minority that is harmed-- not all 27 million people of Iraq.

Iraq was not lost. It was always won. No media can ever cover up the ultimate success of this war.

Pray for them. The odds of the fledgling country surviving are not good, but the Iraqis know far better than the Americans the perils they face and the importance of the task ahead of them. They've tasted freedom, and we've built them up somewhat. Not as well as we would have liked, but perhaps with God's help they'll still pull it off.

I'm sorry to say this......but it looks like "shrugging" is exactly what happened today in this country. I lived through that same attitude during Viet Nam. And it's sickening. I'm more sad than angry.....and heartbroken.

I for one am very upset about this looming over our heads, I still remember Vietnam too clearly and how the dems withdrew funding and forced us to withdraw.
