"Not that most of the people of Iraq understand, or even care"

The problem is that they DO understand...

They understand that we left millions to die in Southeast Asia, and we left 180,000 IRAQI's to die in 1991, when it became politicly unpopular to continue our support...

They HEAR the leftist propoganda of our own American Representatives DAILY on the Arab news networks, as well as the propoganda of those that want to kill us, and say to themselves;

"If I pick a side, and America loses, I and my entire family, will be SLAUGHTERED"

And tonite just reinforces the fear of the average Iraqi (AND Afghani) that we will simply abandon them to thier fate...

I understand...and that's one of the reasons why I am so upset.

The average American really doesn't care about the fate of the average Iraqi or Afghani, especially when their fate is in their own hands. They certainly don't care enough to sacrifice thousands of young soldiers and hundreds of billions of dollars to teach barbarians a civic lesson. Bush doesn't (or at least didn't) understand this. The bastard Rove doesn't seem to have a clue. Because of this most Americans don't like President Bush and don't think he's doing a good job. This dislike has spread to a dislike of Republicans in general, a dislike enhanced by corruption and scandal. American voters have just sent a message. The future success of the Republican Party depends on whether they get the message and do something about it.

Yes, the MSM is still very powerful and ignoring it because they are "dinosaurs" is stupid.
No, professional pollsters are not idiots. Denigrating what they are telling us, because we don't want to hear, is folly.

Yes, If you really believe that the continued invasion of our country by illegal aliens is in the national interest, you better have some awfully good reasons that will convince the obviously skeptical.

Yes, part of the Presidents job is explaining to the American public just what you're doing and why. If you can't do this you can't lead.

And yes, we are all in this together. Demonizing fellow Americans because they don't agree with you only loses any chance of persuasion to your views and weakens our society.

Tomorrow is the first day of our fight back to leadership. Lessons from our latest knockdown abound. It's up to us to learn the lessons and apply them to our struggle so we will be victorious in the battles ahead.

Let's roll!
