Question: how bad was the timing in saying Rummy was staying for two more years so close to the election? He is a lightening rod to too many people and that probably should not have been suggested even if true.
I think that was Bush putting his cards on the table. I'm sure every scenario of Dems winning was given to him, and was told Rummy is a target- which is why he trumped them. State the obvious- he's staying, before the Dems can cry, 'he must go.'
