I really don't think they'll go for impeachment, just endless investigations and smear campaigns.

Pres. Bush and his administration will spend the next 2 years on trial in congressional committee. Plan on about 3-4 major investigations:
Energy Policy
WMDs/Intelligence & Iraq
OBL
etc...

this will allow them to drag our President in the mud up until the 2008 presidential primaries

Same here. They know impeachment won't fly, but they'll go the investigation and panel route. Very disgusting.
