You must feel shame for the founding fathers who put their families in mortal danger as well.

On the contrary, I'm very proud of the founders, who would not have listened to the pro-English majority for two seconds.

They fought a war to win it, and they did.

If we had conquered and occupied Iraq, so that the people there could elect a government which did not exist only inside an American fortress, I'd be proud of that, too.

As it is,the half-assed job we did over there (which will be ending in the next six months, now) willjust get a lot of good people killed and put us in worse danger than before.

It's shameful.

No....It won't...

Nothing will change, except there will now be a time line. The time line will be November 2008. The war is already funded through 2007, and nobody but a suicidal idiot will pull the plug on our troops while they are there. They may try, but it won't succeed as long as Bush is in office and we have the Senate.
