The fairness doctrine will be here shortly after the first of the year. The democrats believe they can browbeat the "traumatized" Republicans who have survived the election into going along with anything they want and if past performance before they were "traumatized" is any indication of their spinelessness, my money is on the Democrats. That will take care of talk radio. I really started to believe the Democrats were going to take over when the local talk station that carries Rush decided to pick up the cellar dweller Pirates for next season planning to carry pre-season stuff and pre-empt Rush. Then when their owner Clear Channel put themselves up for sale, I KNEW they knew something. No idea how they will get a handle on the internet, but I'm sure Soros has a plan for that too.

The media knew Talent was going down.....and probably Allen. That's why those races weren't called. Unlike some that were with 1% totals. I really thought we'd keep the senate. sigh

"I think big govrnment social engineering by either the right or left has been truly rejected."

I would agree with your earlier point on the "social right" in this way; had there been no Foley incident, had there been no Rev. Haggard incident, these folks would have been much more energized to re-elect Repubs.

Just my opinion and I am ready to be wrong if proven so.

It hard to tell this but Mccain or Giuliani is looking like a lock right now for 2008 Republican nomination.

The party will drift away from conservatism thanks to the result of this election and most likely we will see GOP refocus as a moderate party.

Biggest losers tonight? The people of Iraq. They are going straight to hell. Not that Democrats care.

Not that most of the people of Iraq understand, or even care. It seems that most of them will not fight for their own country, much less try to stop those of them who are killing OUR troops!
Remember "the road to Jerusalem goes through Iraq"? That was a very long time ago.

I believe that enough Pubbies decided to send Dubya a message today. Enough is enough!
I could not do that. Two weeks ago, I marked my absentee ballot ALL Pubbies, and I'm very sorry that my Rep, Dennis Hastert, will not be Speaker anymore...

This is a very sad day.

Quote of the night - although I'm still not voting for him

John McCain on Fox -" We went to Washington to change government and government changed us. We didn't address people's priorities excessive spending, earmarking, failure to reform immigration and failure to reform social security.

We will bounce back and return to our conservative philosophy."

Us "Christian idiots" that worked hours outside of our own state in 2004 to make sure John Kerry wasn't in the White House.
Love the broad stroke bigot brush.

This is why I don't think we'll ever see another Reagan who can unite the Religious Conservatives with the Fiscal Conservative/Social Libertarian types. We just don't have anyone in this party today that can do it.

McCain will never be the candidate without you and I and a lot of other conservatives voting for him... we have to get our base out at the primary and vote for someone much better than Mccain.

No they won't. The Dems don't give a damn what the "little people" think or want and a lot of those who vote Dem, DO NOT think!
