The majority of Americans don't want to win, they just want it to go away. They won tonight and all we can do is watch and see how it pans out.
actually, the recount never took place. we won Florida in 2000 by the 537 vote margin on election night.
If the VA senate contest gets ugly(ier), who is the ultimate arbiter of the outcome?

I am so upset - worry that with a 50/50 Senate the Dems will impeach Bush...and I bet Stevens and Ginsburg retire, knowing that Bush cannot get through a Conservative replacement on the Court...And I do not even know if I can watch the State of the Union with Pelosi standing behind W...guess I will just listen to it on the radio...

I just did the math on Missouri. Too many Dem precincts left. We're losing that and Montana, and the fate of the Senate's in a recount...
Interesting that now it is three elections that it ended up one last state to decide it. Florida, Ohio, and now Virginia are part of the club now. I find this amazing!!!!

We won the first count by enough to survive the recount. Republicans don't gain votes on recounts.
Sometimes a party becomes the victim of its own success -- no further attacks on the country, sound economy, improving social fabric, fewer abortions etc.
