It will be like the last days of the Roman empire when tribes on the periphery of the Empire eventually took over, doing more and more menial tasks, then eventually taking over.

A very good way to end the evening with your thoughts. All is not lost but America will gradually be in the hands of the elites of this New World Order. Learn Spanish & get your universal heath care card. Don't forget the words of Alexander Tyler.

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

When I want to "send a message" to the Republicans, I do so when I vote in the primary. I could never be angry enough to vote for a democrat (ok, maybe Zel Miller!)

"I can't believe that there are that many people who would vote for the Dems when everyone knows what is at stake here."

I didn't. What I see at stake is the survival of this Republic. The only thing I see holding the line was the Republicans in the House. The President gets his 40 million or so new Democrats now. (retch)

As long as Rick concedes with grace, he stands in good stead for another post.

They worked hard to get this power back; they will NOT turn it loose again.

AMEN! If pundits like Malkin don't accept part of the blame for this loss for conservativism, they are cowards.

They helped the left with their hatred, and I won't soon forget it.

No, it's a 1900 vote difference with a .08% lead for Webb.

Gonna need lots of brooms and lots of rugs. Does that mean she'll refuse to seat William Jefferson if he wins the runoff?

Pelosi will not have a mandate to anything. The congress is going to be bottled-up. The Republicans can now do what they do... act as the under dog.

Bingo!

Once Delay was taken out the GOP had no leadership. Frist was like a mouse most of the time. The GOP cut it's own throat not defending Delay, again ....

Actually, my husband and I have been having serious talks about leaving NW Montana as the liberals flock in from Washington and other western states. If Tester is in, we are out, I think. We are looking at Idaho and Wyoming at this point. It isn't just Tester, it is the whole liberal tree-hugging, save the wolves and stop the logging, etc, mentally that has taken over our area. It is really getting to us.
