I am so saddened. I have a very inteeligent friend..30ish...he voted straight Dem. I just don't get it.

I have a VERY liberal older brother. We get together infrequently, but when we do I am unmerciful! I tear him to shreds. I am sorry for all of the Thanksgivings' that I have wrecked, but I am not sorry for ripping his politics to shreds. He deserves it, the stupid ass.

Well I hate to say this, but the Republicans have nobody to blame but themselves for this. The GOP catered to the Fundamentalist crowd to the exclusion of all else they once stood for, and this is what happened. Combining a message of moral superiority while getting stuck in scandal after scandal eventually wears thin. Ignoring spending while handing out so much pork it makes Robert Byrd look like Ebeneezer Scrooge also doesn't cut it.

The greatest lesson that the GOP could take from this as it licks its wounds is to remember the words of the Great One: "Government is not the solution to the problem-government is the problem." Sadly, they forgot that in their zeal to please the Christian Socialist idiots who took over the party and pretty much drove everybody else away. At the very least, let's hope that as the loyal opposition, they will actually start acting like Republicans again.

Allen's done.

Breaks my heart. But, he's done.

I'll tell you one thing --- it sure looks like the "true conservatives" are losing in border states.

Is DeWine a "true conservative"? He lost. Is Chafee a "true conservative"? He lost. Is Johnson of CT a "true conservative"? She lost.

Can we keep the Senate without Allen?

'Cause I don't think he'll pull it out. And even if he does, Webb will keep it tied up with recounts that may flip it.

Not only Arizona, what's wrong with the whole friggin' country? This is a bloodbath.

Thanks for the open borders George Bush! Thanks, Hastert and Frist, for not acting like the MEN in charge.

Make your base feel disrespected and ignored and this is what happens!

I can believe it.

History is not kind to a second term President's party in the mid terms. The kind of losses we are seeing tonight are historical, not historic.

When it all shakes out the donks might not do as well as average in this situation. Speaker Pelousy has a bitter sound to it, but perhaps it will put some fire in the belly of the GOP.

At least I can hope it will.

They are worried about the Senate. They KNOW what will happen if both fall... and it will tank more than the Dow.

You and me too.

I have been following this thread off and on all night--(between FOX and here)starting about 7:00,when things did NOT look so bad for us.

Now, with the inevitable taking place, I too, think I will pretty much take a break from politics for a while. AND from Fox news-- maybe FOREVER-- after the way they cheered on the DUmmies all night!!

And my answer to all of the Demoncrats who gloat to me will simply be this : "I hope you are happy with what you get".

Why is everybody going off the deep end? I remember I went ballistic after the 1992 election, having an argument with my then-newlywed wife and storming off. In 1998, I surely thought there would be a GOP wave sweeping Clinton out of office, and instead there was some minor Democratic gains.

This fight never ends. Now that the House members are in the minority, they'll have to come up with new methods of fighting the Dhimmicrats. The Senate will still be GOP. This wasn't a huge blue wave. It was an impressive victory for the Dhimmicrats, but not a massive blue wave of monstrous proportions. If the GOP has any balls it won't result in Soldiers and Iraqis getting slaughtered by Mooslime terrorists.

Since the Reagan election of 1980, we tend to take 2-3 steps forward, but 1 step back. This year is our one step back. I for one am optimistic that the GOP was able to withstand the blue "wave" (more like fart-bubbles).

The sun will come up tomorrow, the elections will be discussed around the water cooler, the world will go on. The nation will debate our future, etc. the system will remain intact. The only thing I ever fear is that the machine of democracy will break -- but for now the machine seems to be in good working order.
