This thread will continue right up till the end of the night. Focus on Mass./New England and nationally, too. Governorships, Senate/House, ballot questions...who will control the Senate and House nationally? Key races... keep it here!
>>What's in the water up there in Massachusetts???
Whatever it is, I'm not drinking it. I'm having Pepsi
and the occasional Budweiser tonight :)
Todd Fineburg and Rod Fritz will anchor WRKO's election
coverage. Am sure Michael Graham (WTKK) and Paul Sullivan
(WBZ) will do coverage/talk.
On TV, Ch 4's sister station WSBK/38 will be all election
news from 8-11 pm and Ch 4 will do updates plus an hour at 10 pm. I'm sure many "victory speeches" will be timed to be
as close to 11 pm news as possible. Other stations will do
break-in coverage etc.
I'd better get some dinner and a glass of wine or two...
NH and VT polls have closed at 7 I believe. Hoping for the best in VT senate race (Sanders-I v. Tarrant-R) though Sanders
is expected to win big. Jim Douglas (R) prob. will win re-election as VT gov.
NH has gov. and Rep races...VT has rep race too (all Representative seats up of course)
CNN projects Welch (D) will win the sole Congressional seat
in VT, over Rainville (R). No vote totals in yet. The winner
would inherit the seat being vacated by Bernie Sanders (I)
NH 2nd district is Bass (R, incumbent) vs. Hodes. Bass helped
save the Portsmouth Navy Shipyard didn't he?
...or was it Bradley who helped them keep the shipyard open...?
- might be checking in a bit later. I need to turn off the radio coverage and get some chores done.
WBZ midnight host Steve Leveille has said on air several times he's a liberal...and he has said he's voting for Ross. Yikes!
CNN news alert via web: CNN projects that an amendment to the Virginia Constitution defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman will pass. No projections by CNN site for
Senate yet. I'll have to see what Fox says.
On Fox News site:
>>with Indiana Republican Sen. Richard Lugar and Rep. Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont, both keeping their seats.
Huh? Sanders isn't keeping his seat, he's moving from House
to Senate!! Duh!
The slightly disturbing thing I noticed was that about 1/2 the storefronts with Republican signs were shuttered or unoccupied, which would also point to landlords putting up signs.
CNN projects Ted Strickland wins Ohio gov. (was held by a
Republican, Bob Taft I believe) over Ken Blackwell
Caller to WRKO: "What will the other senators like Ted K
say when Lieberman wins re-election to Senate as a Republican,
after being defeated in Dem. primary?"
He'll just go back to being a Dem. anyway..."one issue primary" (the war!)
In just minutes I think we may have some projections via TV. Will post here...
projections from Ch 38/Ch 4
Patrick projected as gov. Surprised?
More stooopid voters in Massachusetts voting for the Cape Cod Orca!
I heard about DePetro being sacked.
Mark Levin is synicated by ABC I think.
What's the "big announcement" that Howie's WCRN are trumpeting?
Nothing on Boston Radio Watch yet.
Ch 4 Boston projects:
Deval Patrick (D) for Gov over Kerry Healey (R)
Ted Kennedy (D-Chappaquiddick) over Ken Chase (R) Senate
Martha Coakley (D) over Larry Frisoli (R) Atty Gn
