This thread will continue right up till the end of the night. Focus on Mass./New England and nationally, too. Governorships, Senate/House, ballot questions...who will control the Senate and House nationally? Key races... keep it here!
Ah right, ABC...
"Big announcement" for WCRN might be that they're moving
the antenna closer to Boston or boosting it or something.
We (radio fans in Boston area) don't quite know yet.
Good news... Gov. Jodi Rell (R) wins the election CT! She's a bit of a RINO, but I'll take a hundred Jodi Rells over one Deval Patrick. Raccoonradio... move south to CT!
Ohio sen. Mike DeWine may be headed for defeat...
Brian mcGrory of Globe is on TV right now...the camera is
not kind to his face...
Well I won't move to CT (not unless it really gets bad here)
but I like visiting! (My job is in N. Reading MA and that's a bit of a commute!)
On a lot of these "projections" you see one candidate picked as winner but it must be exit polls--they'll have 0 or 1
per cent of vote total, and the candidate who ISN'T projected to win is leading in that vote total.
My Condolences to everybody out East.
so far it looks like a very very small percentage of precincts are reporting but CNN has this so far (I would
think Healey would narrow the deficit she has by quite a bit, and again these are very low raw numbers:
Democrat Patrick
1,587 63%
Republican Healey
742 29%
Independent Mihos
120 5%
Green Ross
86 3%
Cahill, DeNucci, Galvin all re-elected in MA sez WRKO
(Tres., Auditor, Sec State)
Bill Nelson beats Katherine Harris in FL
Snowe wins in ME
PA GOV: Rednell beats Lynn Swann
Lynch wins re-election to gov in NH
MSNBC calling PA Senate race for Casey over Santorum
Both NH Reps, Bass (R) and Bradley (R) could be in trouble...
Bass way behind in early returns
Jim Rappaport on WRKO now saying that sometimes a party like Republicans needs to be thrown out (so they can come back
later, stronger?)...and that it's not the Dems who are getting a mandate, it's just a "throw the bums out" year...
He says that the terrorists will be cheering the swing to the left here, since the Dems will cut & run (of course...)...and once things get disastrous, the Republicans will get back in.
I hope that Bass's dad's dismissing early polls showing the Dem leading still holds true. The early polls were from Comcord and the welfare double dippers on NH/Mass border. The rural and north country voters used to be able to bring it home for the Republicans; not sure that still holds true with the in-migration of Lefties fleeing the consequences of their policies in Mass. and Conn.
is anybody hanging around?
Do you know how the mosque being built on the undervalued land in Boston is coming along.
I understand it is to be the second largest mosque in North America. Has DeVal/Kennedy/JonCarry made arrangements for the expected influx of muslims?
It will be interesting to follow the aggressively political homosexual community that pushes multi-culti policies, and the Lefty give-away alliance with the indigenous hacks, working to accommodate a muslim population to whom accommodation is one way.
Well let's just say a lot of immigrants will be coming in to
this state soon--illegals getting drivers' licenses, in-state tuition etc.
yes locally and nationally some races are TCTC (too close to call)
Romney now speaking at Healey HQ..."for four years we've been able to balance the budget, without raising taxes"
think Deval will be able to do that>
"...she
has worked tirelessly--and you'll be seeing more of her in the next 4 years. Ladies and gentlemen Kerry Healey and Reed
Hillman!" (Boston-More than a Feeling plays)
So far Ted Sarandis has about 8 per cent of the vote in
Gov Council District 6 (ex-WEEI talk host)
Healey on stage thanking her supporters, family, Romney,
etc
Ted K just on stage thanking his good friend John Kerry--
and "our new governor, Deval Patrick. Victory's in the air
gang, isn't it?"
at least he got the name right. Not like... "why don't
we ask Osama bin Laden? Er, Osama Obama. Obama..."
CNN projects Democratic win in Rhode Island, beating incumbent Lincoln Chafee, giving the Democrats three of the six pickups they need to take control of the Senate.
CNN calling Cardin (D) over Steele (R) in MD even though their raw vote total has Steele in lead. CNN calling Lieberman (I)
over Lamont (D) in CT w/ 13 per cent reporting
Lieberman
(Incumbent) 55,450 46%
Democratic Lamont
51,209 43%
Republican Schlesinger
11,396 10%
with 19 per cent reporting Incumbent Lincoln Chafee
could be headed for defeat in RI. Sheldon Whitehouse
up 55-45
