May I ask what boats you were in, particularly which boat (or boats) you were COB of?

I put in 17 years in the surface navy starting with the SeaBees, a tour in country VietNam, and ships ranging in size from gunboats to carriers. I hate crowds, so I put in for submarine duty as an E-8. I served on the USS Benjamin Franklin, SSBN640 (Gold). My next boat was PCU Topeka, SSN754. I was then COB on the USS Philadelphia, SSN690. I'm kind of an oddball choice for a COB (an ex skimmer and a supply type), but I enjoyed it.

Fine boats, and a fine career. Thanks for serving, Chief.
