'Political rock star' Clinton drops in on gay group's gala in SoBe

Former President Bill Clinton, in South Florida to campaign for Democratic candidates, made a surprise appearance Saturday night at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's 10th annual Recognition Dinner in South Beach.
Clinton arrived at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel about 8 p.m. and greeted NAACP Board Chairman Julian Bond, who received the evening's National Leadership award. Local honorees: philanthropist Bob Cole (The Miami Herald Humanitarian Award) and TWN (The Weekly News), South Florida's gay newspaper that closed in March after 29 years.

Isn't this very convenient for MRS BILL CLINTON? She can hem and haw on marriage and so on, all the while she sends Bubba out to make a "very nice gesture" to the home team.
And notice he made no speeches that could be picked up and spread around the internet.

No, Clinton remembers, as a child, cutting a "glory hole" into a bathroom partition wall in Little Rock's first Peep Show Emporium out of solidarity with Gays. THen he and his friends got on a bus, and in a misdirected act of solidarity, turned themselves in blacks by sitting at the back. And of course, Bill insisted that his friends call him "Rosa".
