They are actually scared to death of real freedom. Freedom to a liberal means enforcing his or her own narrow world view onto others so that the liberal doesn't have to feel guilty about their reckless behavior.
They speak of people of faith being"inhibited" but leave a trail of broken lives behind them from numerous divorces and "lifestyle" changes. But rather than say "hey; that was my choice"; they instead blame "the right".
They claim they can't get good jobs yet their own nanny state gives them unparalleled access to higher education. (especially if they aren't white). Yet they won't take responsibility when their own lack of will leaves them flipping burgers.
I always get lambasted for bringing up Robert Heinlein's writings on here so flame away. In "Starship Troopers" the teacher character refers to the failures of democracy. He says something to the effect of : "Those people thought that they could vote themselves anything they wanted without cost." One need only look to the minions of mascots that the democrats have created to see the truth in that.

It was a real wake-up call to me when I had some of my middle school students tell me they didn't really care about getting good grades because they could just go on welfare some day. And no, it was not an urban school or in an economically depressed area of PA. I was stunned speechless.
