Trying to link the gay preacher guy to the Republican party pushed the media over the line from the most blatant Dem cheer leading to what seems like a bad Mad TV parody of blatant Dem media cheer leading.

The Foley story broke too early, so this perverted preacher story seems to have been released just before the election to try to revive the issue and depress Republican/conservative turnout on November 7. I never heard of the guy before they turned it into a big news story, but they would like you to believe he was more famous than Pope Benedict XVI, Billy Graham, and the Dalai Lama combined.
