Me either; it's the worst I've ever seen -- and I've been voting for a LONG time.

It has to be that MSM knows they are in desparate trouble from competition from Fox and the net and the hope somehow to pump their ratings. They hope the Dems will enforce the Fairness Doctrine and regulate Net content that is kicking their asses.

They're definitely doing everything and ANYTHING they can to maximize the perception that things are going very, very bad - in the hopes that a bad mood will cascade down onto the President and Republicans this cycle. I got to work this am, opened up CNN.com and was greated with a subheadline reading "US Aircraft Carrier Stuck in the Mud".

All I could think of is "great - yet another screw up giving the opportunity for CNN/MSM to deride ongoing US military activities and infer that the President is responsible.

Turns out that the carrier "stuck in the mud" was the old WWII/Vietnam-veteran ex-USS Intrepid, decommissioned since the mid-1970s, a museum on NYC's West Side since the early 1980s and sitting in 15' of Hudson mud since then. But I had to actually open and read the link to learn that part. From the front CNN page it read like just another military screwup that they were trying to gloat over.

Talk about coming out of the closet.... CNN did it big time this election cycle. Whenb the Dems lose tomorrow CNN will be in a major melt-down.

Not as long as me I'll bet. I'm proud of the fact that my first presidential vote was for Richard M. Nixon against John F. Kennedy and you had to be 21 to vote then.

Now I've given it away.

Even though I have heard that refrain all my life "it's the worst I have ever seen", I have to agree that indeed, it IS the worst RIGHT now. I think it is qualitatively different from years and elections past: the machinery gets perfected day by day, there are more dirt-diggers , more talking-head "strategists",and this all becomes desperately NECESSARY from the Left, who then are relieved of the need to even come up with a "different vision for America". EVERY possible scandal is seized upon, exploited for its maximum propaganda value, hopefully extending it past whatever REAL concerns might threaten to break into the public consciousness and beg for a little attention.
