Thanks for the ping, freema.
I'm out here on detail, so perhaps I'll make it down there.

There is an Iwo Jima Marine in [Mrs] T's American Legion Post in Olney. He has been out Freeping on the corner of Olney several times helping us show support of our troops.

I wish I could be there! I was invited to go inside on Sunday with a group of Young Marines from Front Royal whom I'd met on a Patriot Guard Riders Mission. But I will be in Lynchburg at the Marine Corps Ball the night before. One does not drive 4 hours early in the morning after spending a considerable part of the night instructing Lance Corporals in the art of beer drinking. Karl can't be there, so someone has to take up the slack. Semper Fi.

Great about this summer. Just don't travel I-95 during rush hour.
Maybe there will be time to stop by Walter Reed on Friday Night. By spring, the wintered out FReepers could use some relief.

Jeez - It's still under construction - the pic was taken in August, give me a break.
Go to the Marine Heritage link and see the architects rendering of how it will look.
