My logic? I am not sure what logic you are using. I hope you are not trying to deny that the far left counter-culture of the sixties did indeed create the modern American pothead/dopehead culture we suffer with today.
That is well evidenced in your response. Just to make things clear to you, drug use is a moral vice, but so are things like drinking, smoking and gambling. All these things can lead to some level of self-destruction if not done responsibly and in moderation. Republicans support the continued criminalization of the former while they tolerate or participate in the latter. Essentially what folks like you are saying is something along the lines of "Republican/conservative vices are okay, yours are criminal". IOW, I was trying to show you the hypocrisy of it all coming from the Right on this issue.
IMO, folks like you have blinded yourselves to the underlying injustices and inconsistencies of the drug laws because you associate that particular vice with folks who have a differing politcal philosophy than yours. The truth is that vices of all types have been indulged by human beings since time immemorable. It's silly to claim otherwise, as you do by pointing to the 1960's counter-culture. In fact, they were trying to point out the same hyporcrisy I mentioned above. The self-righteous rarely see their own moral failings (hypocrisy in this case), be they personal or political (political in this case). ;-)
