Hasta la vista, baby -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is so confident of his re-election that he's already planning to make a run for the border Wednesday.
Not for a vacation, mind you, but to promote California tourism and the state's newest export: environmental technology.
What the governor hopes he isn't talking about during his three-day trip to Mexico is the always-prickly issue of border protection and illegal immigration -- something that has his supporters back home hotly divided.
Instead, trip organizers say Arnold, who has already pitched California in Japan and China, will fly to Mexico City for a long-promised meet-and-greet with outgoing Mexican President Vicente Fox and Fox's successor, Felipe Calderon. Then it's off to the industrial city of Monterrey. First lady Maria Shriver will be along to add her luster.
As for the trip's theme, well, they've already got the billboards and street signs going up in Monterrey with an image of Schwarzenegger over both the Mexican and Californian flags, and the hopeful slogan "Crecemos juntos'' -- "We grow together."
Not terribly sexy, but hopefully more helpful than those anti-piracy billboards that Arnold and actor Jackie Chan showcased during his last trip to Shanghai.
As for what the governor has in mind when he returns to the Golden State?
We're told his crew is already hard at work on a new universal health care plan. And they're scouting his next big foreign venture -- India.

Trade mission follows election
Donors will join governor's official trip to Mexico City.
Saturday, November 4, 2006
Confident in his chances of re-election, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is finalizing a Mexico trade mission that will depart less than 24 hours after polls close Tuesday and rely on an undisclosed mix of anonymous corporate donors and state funds.
The Governor's Office on Friday released a list of 63 business delegates who will accompany him. About a third either contributed to his campaign or work for companies that did, including the CEO of a Florida disaster cleanup firm who hosted an out-of-state fundraiser for Schwarzenegger in August.
It will be the Republican governor's third official trip to Mexico but his first to Mexico City, the nation's capital. Schwarzenegger and first lady Maria Shriver are scheduled to meet with outgoing President Vicente Fox, who visited Sacramento earlier this year, and President-elect Felipe Calderón. Besides Mexico City, the governor plans to visit Monterrey during his two-day schedule.

In other words, now that the Austrian knows he is the clear winner and no longer has to fear the wrath of the voters, he has decided it's safe to follow his natural liberal inclinations and engage in some hispandering.

Should we start singing Kumbaya now?
Before I start singing, I'm going to wait to see what Felipe Calderon & Bush talk about during their Nov. 9th meeting.
That's your great Republican party. Yip Yip. This man has set the pubbie party back 20 yrs with his crapola. Could there be any other outcome in this goofy state? No one will know because pubbies settled for this dork & his leberal wife over McClintock in the runoff.
And the MSM keeps printing gaggable stuff like this
(at least they also published Fleishman's comment of reality):

If the Republican Party, as predicted, takes a serious swamping Tuesday across the country, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger may look not only like a prescient politician who rode the wave -- but like one who's now poised to generate one himself.
Even before Tuesday's vote is tallied, "Arnold has become the New Republican -- someone who talks fiscal conservatism and put together a coalition of Democrats and Republicans," said GOP strategist Ed Rollins. "Certainly, he can become a very significant role model."
Should he win re-election -- and polls put him in a commanding lead -- Schwarzenegger's bounce back from unpopularity a year ago will show how California "has always been a trendsetter,'' Rollins said. Politically, "it's always two to six years ahead of the rest of the country.''
(snip)
"Somebody else who tries to emulate the ideological spasticity of Arnold Schwarzenegger, as a Republican, is going to have to deal with the fact that they will probably have to run in a real primary -- and not be a known movie star,'' says GOP strategist Jon Fleischman, publisher of the popular Flashreport.org, a conservative political Web site.
Listen carefully. Ed's observation is accurate.
Traditional Republicans may soon be fighting two, liberal enemies.
The system prevents large donors from speaking out. Those in the process of amassing a fortune can't afford the luxury of objecting to philosophy. They simply have to contribute to protect their slice of the government subsidized pie.
Just think 'Third Way', Baby!!
We'll be seeing a lot more about this particular political beliefs system in the future, it has been kept out of the limelight for the most part with all the election year stuff but it is moving ahead, nonetheless.
Now that the Global Warming folks are on a roll of late, it's time to get it out there for folks to kick around until Congre$$ and the California legislature go back to work next session.
It's nothing more than liberalism in a 'Progressive' suit... a kinder gentler form of socialism. All the usual suspects are in the mix, including elites and the associated riff raff politico operatives.
It's nothing more than shoving more socialism down folks throats and expecting everyone to gladly swallow it without question and pay for it too, kind of like what we have seen a lot of the last few years in California both legislation and initiative-wise.
btw, ALOHA!!!
Off to Kona in the morning... *-D
We be werkin here!!!
I'm werkin' out too.. on a tan and a beer. ;-P
not really , I burn easily and am the driver for the family here.
Off to the pool and pool side bar. See ya all later.. I need to step my werkout up a notch.:-)
Norm, take care on those steep, volcanic slopes while hunting Kona Gold. While LEOs are scarce, the footing is treacherous and the gardens are fiercely guarded.
Have a blast. See you when the Austrian has returned triumphantly from Mexico.
Reminds me of that guy who ran for president advocating open borders and open trade. Ronald Reagan.
