Uh, Dude...Most non-Governing Republicans actually AGREE with the GOP's stance on these Issues.
He's saying that the GOP went from its grand vision of 1994 (e.g., passing welfare reform and limited government - in short, the Contract With America) to little more than frivolous sideshows (e.g., banning horsemeat and same-sex marriage).
Yeah, horse meat really brings me to the polls. As for same sex marriage, most of the real work as been done at the state level...where it should be done in the first place. If conservatives don't pay attention to the grass roots, we end up with freshman classes full of RINOs to fill the seats that incumbent RINOS will eventually lose to Democrats. Dick Armey is right about the levels of spending with this congress versus the ones he was in, especially when you consider the President he had to serve under.
