Kerry has been saying since he lost in 2004 that he woudnt let anyone Swift Boat him again. The fact is that he had no defense against the truth. His only defense was to sign a F-180 and reveal his military record. Only he couldnt do that because it would have shown the truth as told by the Swift Boat Veterans.

This time he jumped right in with both feet and again the truth defeated him. He could have done allright and possibly even helped Angelides if he could have just gotten over his hatred for George Bush. He couldnt do it. neither can Nancy Pelosi, but at least she was smart enough to go into hiding before she made a bigger fool of herself.

Kerry's "ship came in". In this case, it was the Flying Dutchman.

He has another problem that induced him to make the remark--he virulently hates America, the military and all both stand for. The wonderful, heroic Swiftvets were and are the real men. In Kerry's view they did the absolutely inexcusable; they exposed him. In doing so they stood for the entire military. That redoubled all the bitterness and hate he feels for the military. Thus, when he was with a friendly audience containing many traitors who agreed with him it was just as though he'd consumed enough drinks to loosen his tongue but not enough to slur his speech and he said what he really thought, exposing his complete contempt and hatred for the military and America. Unfortunately for him and the DemonRats, most of whom feel exactly as he does, he ignored the all seeing eye of the TV camera. The rest is history.

Until 2004, Kerry had spent his entire life blithely lying to people through the press, and the press had been covering up for him. Most of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War had not even served a whole three months in Viet Nam. Many of them had no military history at all, but the press covered up for them. Kerry lied to Congress, and the press never investigated. Kerry claimed he was in Cambodia when Richard Nixon claimed there were no troops in Cambodia, even though his entire time in Viet Nam was during the Johnson administration. No one ever investigated. As to not releasing his form, I've always believed that the reason is because his separation date is listed, IIRC, during the Carter Administration, several years after he should have completed his terms of service. I believe he originally got a dishonorable because of meeting with the Communists while still a member of the US military, and got his detachment status changed.

Suddenly, in 2004, the Swift Boat Vets called him on it. The press tried to cover for him again, by calling the Swift Boat charges false, although they could not disprove them. They also attempted to say that Viet Nam didn't matter anymore, so we shouldn't examine Kerry's record, although Kerry never made a speech without mentioning his tour in Viet Nam. Kerry had never dealt with antagonistic coverage before. He was used to telling half-baked lies and having the press lap it up like a dog laps up it's own vomit.
