Here Are The Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #10639

Geography Surveyed: CA 50th CD Data Collected: 11/01/2006 - 11/03/2006 Release Date: 11/04/2006 11:25 AM ET Sponsor: KGTV-TV San Diego

Never Mind; Busby Fades at the Finish & Bilbray Holds CA50 for Republicans: Polling exclusively for KGTV-TV San Diego, SurveyUSA wrote on 9/13/06 that CA50 was "safe" for the GOP. Republican Brian Bilbray at that time had a 14 point lead, and appeared to be out of reach. Then, on 10/16/06, in the middle of the media coverage of Mark Foley, Democrat Francine Busby closed to within 2 points in SurveyUSA tracking, and SurveyUSA took back "safe," and instead said that seat was "in play." Now, at the finish line, things have returned to almost exactly where they were in September. Bilbray leads by 14 points in November, just as he did in September. Today: 55% Bilbray, 41% Busby, 72 hours till voting stops. This is the 3rd election between Bilbray and Busby this year. Busby lost to Republican "Duke" Cunningham by 58% to 37% in 2004, but finished first in a Special election 4/11/06 to replace Cunningham, who had resigned 11/28/05. Since Busby fell short of a majority, there was a runoff 6/6/06, which Bilbray won by 4 points.

Yup. I hope the Dems have many more "moral" victories like that on election day.

California does seem to be a part of our firewall this year.

Also, nobody in these parts will forget that Busby believes "you don't need papers to vote" (--Francine Busby, spoken at rally near Escondido, CA to a room comprised of many ILLEGAL immigrants!)

Can't the Dems find anyone else to run?

Front Page headline in Sac Bee this AM was to the effect that the GOP was coming back strong.

Yesterday at the huge shopping center in Sac suburb of Roseville, the Galleria, we were stuck at the main intersection, with hundreds of cars passing by. On each corner there were about 25-30 Brown (D challenger to Doolittle)supporters jumping up and down and waving signs that said "honk for Charlie Brown".

In the two minutes we were at the light, laughing our heads off, only four or five honks were heard.

The Brownies were no more than 6 feet away, and my wife was laughing at them, giving them the three fingered "W".

If it wasn't for moral victories like this, some people would have no morals at all. Here's hoping for a tsunami of moral victories, come Tuesday.

Busby's campaign is running tv commercials all this weekend accusing Bilbray as being "under a Grand Jury investigation," and trying to link him to the corrupt, and now imprisoned, Duke Cunningham. After Busby lost to Bilbray for the "fill-in" Congressional term, the DNC wrote her off as a lost cause and it has now left her high and dry.

I live in this district. Busby has pretty much blown everything when she was caught reassuring illegal aliens they didn't need any identification to vote for her in the election. She also ran away from my daughter at local college appearance when my daughter attempted to ask her what she would have done about SALMAN PAK (as I'm sure she doesn't even know about Saddam's terrorist training camps)

I was suspicious that Bilbray's campaign got a bit spooked because I got numerous phone calls about volunteering and two personal visits from campaign workers. There was none of this for the Special Election.

I'm still waiting for my yard sign, btw. I don't notice many yard signs this year which is kind of unusual for my area.

Once Busby lost earlier this year, it was clear to me Bilbray would be reelected to a new term. If the "culture of corruption" was going to get traction anywhere it would have been in disgraced "Duke" Cunningham's district. Didn't happen. Boo-hoo, Dems.
