I've thought about that as well and totally agree with you. Stretch Pelosi, even if the win in the House is small will claim a BIG mandate (which, of course,is different than they claimed when Bush won - - he doesn't have a mandate he didn't win by much).
If,and, being somewhat optimistic, I'll change that to WHEN the Pubbies win, the silence will be deafening. And, if the Pubbies end up with a small majority, the Dims will insist upon a 'partnership' and co-committee governship like they did before, but, would never give to the Pubbies.
AGHH! I hadn't considered that...and of course the gutless pubbies will go along..;(
