Hitchens wrote this yesterday

http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110009197

He's a supporter of the War on Terror but refuses to concede that he's wrong in defending Kerry on his 1971 an 1972 slander of our troops. I enjoy reading and listening to Hitchens. I disagree with Hitch on this with vigor.

Here's Hugh Hewitt, questioning Hitchens on this topic

http://www.townhall.com/TalkRadio/Show.aspx?RadioShowID=5&ContentGuid=64df79f1-e3bf-4d9a-b401-b0c91d6f4ece

Hugh was right in trying to get him to put Hitch's charges of war crimes into proportion. Hitch was closed to the view that these could be distortions and misrepresentative of the greater effort. There is no question that it was wrong to prop up French imperialism and that Robert McNamara and McGeorge Bundy were and always will be screw ups.

But it is wrong to argue that enslaving people to the state, which Hitch opposes in North Korea, is a liberation in Viet Nam. Why then did the VC general recant after we left? Why did he say that all he wanted was what we had in the US and this is what he was promised?

It is vexing that Hitch is unwilling to concede the difference between the story that Hitch relates and the Jenjis Khan remark. The other point is that as a young man, sympathetic to Communism, in a war zone, Hitch imagines that he would have access to unflattering information about the VC.

Finally, here are two masterful responses

Hugh's response

Like minds, similar to my post 67 that I found last night, Kerry is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Great find SL.

Hewitt's been a busy guy this week saveliberty. Here's another venture he undertook that turned out to be very revealing for the msm/old media as Mark Halpern refers to his very own net ABC.
You will find it over at TownHall here:

scroll down to the "most viewed"--click on Hugh Hewitt

Basically Halpern--(political guy for ABC)admits the failure of the "Old Media"(his words) that he is a part of and claims the wants to make it better(a little late dude).
I heard the interview with Halpern by Hewitt on a Salem affiliate on my way to Miami Sat. morning at 6:00 am. It was very revealing.
Hewitt actually got an admitted msmer to admit the bias where here-to-fore that has been unheard of.
Here is an admission from an ABC top guy, Mark Halpern that you will seldom if ever hear. I though it was quite telling.

"HH--95% of people you work with are old libs?"

MH "I don't know if its 95%...there are a lot of young guys here too .But certainly there are enough...that it tilts the coverage quite frequently."
Smoking gun here, IMHO.
