I can't believe that high Republican officials would have told Craig that the Saddam verdict is not good news. If anything, I would think that the pictures of people dancing in the street and showing that Iraq is moving towards a Democracy with a good judicial system would make it look like we're having success and Iraq is moving in the right direction - - but maybe that's just me.
Maybe high GOP officials are either non-existent or they are trying to lull the RATS and the media into complacency.
I think, lately, GOP operatives have been "playing" the DBM. When they want or don't want something to happen, they tell some dufus like Crawford, "on no, don't throw me into that briar patch"!
