The appeals process has been part of Iraqi law even under Hussein; he just chose to ignore it

Hope it is not as long and dragged out as ours. I thought I heard that the sentence must be carried out within 30 days of the verdict.

He has one appeal, after that he must die withing 30 days … Muslim and therefore Iraqi law.

The appeal will not be long, and they may not even grant him an appeal. This is too much of an important political and security situation in Iraq to let it drag for more than few weeks.
